Quick thought about your acting/directing goals… many areas have a vibrant community-based and/or professional theater scene with opportunities for newcomers and veterans alike, plus classes, auditions, etc. As for starting in film acting, keep an eye open for auditions for regional indie-films, and you can check out local university film programs too. If you’re in the DC/Baltimore area, for example, there’s a great community theater scene that surrounds the entire DC metro area, from Annapolis on one side through Virginia on the other. Places like Annapolis Summer Garden Theater and Little Theater of Alexandria are great ways to have fun, get involved and meet people that can help you with your longer-term goals. Good luck with your life goals, they sound ambitious and fun!
